It comes on a dark green alligator strap. The case looks great, with a slightly bent lug, but overall very few usage marks and no scratch. The very rare brown bezel is looking great. There is some wobble to the rotor that you will notice with heavy wrist movements, but nothing out of the ordinary for such a movement in this price range. It utilizes a cam operated chronograph and offers 48 hours of reserve. This chronograph is going hotter and hotter, especially since the publication of the excellent book “Chronomaster Only” by Grégoire Rossier and Anthony Marquié.įeaturing a beautiful and particularly well designed black dial with dashes of red, broad arrow hands, black bezel, round pushers, this is a very desirable and typical 60s chronograph. The Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver uses a Sellita SW510 BH B automatic chronograph movement. Guillaume Laidet, a watch industry veteran, announced plans to revive the Nivada Grenchen brand last summer. Altogether, I'm a big fan of these Chronomasters I like how they were marketed as basically a do-it-all watch, perfect for diving, flying, racing, etc. It really looks like it lived a life – the once black bezel has gained to a greenish hue, depending on the light. However, the feature that sticks out to me the most is the bezel. I really love how the lume has aged on the dial and on the broad-arrow-style hands. The watch we have today is in overall beautiful, honest condition and has developed a great patina on the dial and bezel. These early ones say "Chronograph Aviator Sea Diver'' on the dial, yet the same model would later read "Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver," so it's pretty cool to play with the OG. I'm particularly excited about the example we are offering today, because it's from the first run of the Chronomaster that came out in the early 1960s, which featured the Venus 210 movement.
